Dr. Rex Malcom was born and raised in Georgia, not far from Atlanta. He began his professional career as a pharmacist after graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia.
During pharmacy school, he completed an externship with the Indian Health Service in Sitka. His time there created a strong desire to return to Alaska.
